Licensing Steps

Real Estate Licensing Steps
Do you think a career in real estate might be for you?
Do you have a good sphere of influence or visibility in the community? Are you active in clubs, church, and other organizations? Are you enthusiastic about running your own business? Are you willing to take required classes and training to build a career where you’re rewarded based on your production?
If you can answer yes to these questions, a career in real estate might be for you.
Keep reading to discover the five steps you need to take to earn your California real estate license.
Step 1 — Pass Your Real Estate Courses
It’s Easy, We’ll Show You How!
First, complete the three mandatory Real Estate Courses: Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one Elective Course such as Finance. London Properties guides you through the entire process.
- LOW-COST License Program
- FREE Optional Live Study Group with Facilitator
- FREE Post-License Sales Training
Once you have completed the courses and passed an open book/note final exam, you’re home free!
Step 2 — Apply to the State of California Bureau of Real Estate
London Properties will help you apply to the State of California for your final exam date. The State charges you a small fee ($60) which needs to be mailed to the Bureau of Real Estate along with your proof of completion of all three real estate courses, and a brief application.
Step 3 — Apply for State Exam Test Date
Your CA State Exam will be between 2 and 5 weeks from when you turn in your application. During that time, London Properties offers an optional weekend One-Day Cram Course to prepare you to ace the exam. If you wish to take this extra preparation, there is a small fee ($79) for the instructor, and you must register and pay for the Cram Course in advance. You can even repeat this cram session one additional time for free. The cram course is not mandatory, but recommended, and dramatically increases exam passing. You may also re-apply online at the Bureau of Real Estate to re-take your exam as often as you need.
Step 4 — Take the State Exam
Once you have taken your State Exam you will find out immediately if you have passed. If you passed, London Properties will then guide you through the licensing process. The State will mail you a license application and ask you to pay a $245 fee. In addition, they may require a separate $75 for fingerprinting and a background check.
Step 5 — Start Your Career!
Congratulations, you did it! Now guess what? Everything you just learned does NOTHING to help you run your own business. But, not to worry!
